August 7, 2000 ANOTHER RAIN OUT!!! Our first opportunity to race at Berlin ended when the August 5th
race was rained out. Because of our very full schedule for the balance of the 2000 season, it was not possible to reschedule this race. We did complete qualifying before the rain and the results are posted. At least until next year, Dave McCann will hold the Allison Legacy Track Record at Berlin. To the best of my knowledge, Dave is a true rookie racer this season, so it was a tremendous effort on his part to qualify ahead of so many far more experienced drivers. Dave Adapted to this very fast track very quickly and earned his first pole and first track record. Congratulations to Dave!
As we do not have transponders on our cars, we had to provide our own timekeepers and scorers. We did not need the scorers, but were very fortunate to have been introduced to Cindy Grega. Cindy
is the promoter at Winston Motor Speedway North of Muskegon Michigan. At her track she times 90 to 100 cars every Friday night with a stopwatch. At every track she goes to (her husband races a late model)
she practices by timing every car and comparing her results to the official times. She is so good with a stopwatch that she seldom misses the electronic timer's results by more than a few hundredths of a
second. When she heard about our plight, she volunteered to act as our timekeeper. For our next race on Saturday, August 12th
at Angola, gates open at 2pm, practice at 3pm, time trials at 5pm and racing starts at 7pm. Jim Harrison will be the Comp Car Official in charge at Angola. Dick |

August 1, 2000 We have Completed 8 points races so far this season. I am currently trying to reschedule our July 28th
Spartan Speedway race that was rained out to Friday, September 8th. If that race is rescheduled, we will have 7 more points races. So, the 2000 season is about half way complete.
This is a good time to look at the points race and see who is looking good for the points championship and the rookie of the year honors. Our last race (7-29-2000) at Northern Michigan Speedway was Jon Arendsen's 6th victory in 8 races this year. This great performance gives Jon a commanding lead in the points. Morgan Keil is second with 560 points. There is only 31 points between Bruce Ireland in 3rd place and Ed Rodgers in 6th place. With only 100 points separating all point positions from 3rd
through 10th, there could be some major changes by the end of the season. The rookie of the year points battle is also very tight with Ed Rodgers leading this category. The top four contenders for rookie of the year honors are only 57 points apart and there will be plenty of opportunity for changes in these positions.
